Tears of Aboo Bakr and ‛Umar

On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Aboo Bakr said to ‛Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), after the death of the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Let us go and visit Umm Aiman (may Allah be pleased with her) she used to be the nursemaid and servant of the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) during his childhood. As the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to visit her" When they finished visiting her (and were about to leave) she began to cry. So they asked her: "What is it that makes you cry? Is not that which is with Allah better for the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" So she replied,: "I am not crying because l am unaware that which is with Allah is better for the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), but I am crying because the revelation from the heavens has stopped." This moved Aboo Bakr and ‛Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) to tears, so they both began to weep with her.

Moral

This story shows us the love for Islam that the companions had and the love for the Prophet (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) and Allah's revelation.
